Life on a Press Pass
Life on a Press Pass is a Canadian social history of the past 40 years the Boomer Years told through the news pictures of two brothers who were remarkably innovative photographers. They were competitors, Lynn with The Ottawa Citizen and Doug with The Canadian Press. But there's much more to this book than photos. Lynn and Doug Ball are natural, funny and enthusiastic story-tellers. Their lively first-person stories go behind the scenes, telling how they approached their assignments with daring and imagination, how they bent and broke the rules to get the unusual shots that nobody else had, and how they countered the repercussions that followed. Good press photographers require a touch of the scalawag, and there's more than a touch in these two brothers.
